Inle Lake- the Land of the Intha people / trip toPindaya
In
the morning begins the 4-hour excursion with a small boat on the Inle
lake; here lives the Intha tribe; these people became famous as the
one-legged rowers and as architects of floating villages and gardens; the
life of these people, who originally migrated here from the south of
Burma, evolves completely around the lake. Visit of the "floating
market", a traditional weaving mill for Intha-textiles and the great
pagoda with its five holy Buddha's. In the afternoon you will drive through a beautiful agricultural landscape of the Pao-tribe to Pindaya. Often you will see the Pao-farmers in their black national costumes and turquoise colored turbans working in the fields; the Pao believe they are descended from a good-willed dragon that protects them during hard times and difficult situations. Overnight-stay.
