1. Day: Bangkok - Floating Market - River Kwae
Early departure from your hotel in Bangkok in western
direction to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
Later you proceed to Kanchanaburi. Lunch at a local
restaurant. You check in at the Felix River Kwae Resort,
where you still have time to enjoy the beautiful garden
with the large pool.
2. Day: River Kwae - Golf
After breakfast departure to the
Nichigo Country Club
(Designer: Mitsuaki Kobayashi) will be the dream setting
for the next round of golf. For many people it might be
the most beautiful of the over 200 courses in Thailand.
Without any doubt it belongs to the top courses in Asia.
The 27 holes (Lake-, River and Mountain-Course) are
perfectly fitted into the spectacular landscape of
Kanchanaburi. On the way to the 6. hole is a replica of
the famous Bridge over the River Kwae. For many golfers
the charm of a course is fare more important than the
technical side. Nichigo combines both. Sophistication of
the game is combined with exotic nature along the river
and the mountainous landscape as well as a tropical
garden. After golf late lunch on a floating restaurant.
3. Day: River Kwae - Sightseeing
After
breakfast you take a 30 min. drive to the Wang Po
Elephant Camp, where you take a 45 minutes elephant ride
through the jungle and the shallow river banks, followed
by a "Bamboo Rafting" trip. After the 30 minute rafting
tour you will watch a performance of the working
elephants. After lunch at Tham Krasae you will ride a
short distance in the famous "Death Train" along the
spectacular Wang Po Viaduct. After you visit the
historic Cambodian temple
Phrasat Muang Sing,
which was build by the
Khmer during the early Angkor Period. In the late
afternoon return to the hotel.
4. Day: River Kwae - Golf
Today you will play the
Mission Hills Country Club.
This excellent PGA standard course is a challenge for
golfers of all handicaps. The course is build on a
relatively flat terrain with tropical palm trees, got
just a few roughs but a high number of water hazards.
Jack Nicklaus designed his typical sand bunkers. Five of
the fairways got "alternative fairways", with different
routes to the greens. Only good players will play their
handicap on this course. After the round Thai buffet on
the clubhouse terrace.
5. Day: River Kwae - Ratchaburi (Golf) - Bangkok
After Breakfast check out and departure for the
Royal
Ratchaburi Golf Course,
a dream like golf course half way to Bangkok.
Situated right in the center of the
triangle Bangkok - Kanchanaburi - Hua Hin, ideal to play
during a tour to River Kwae or from Kanchanaburi to Hua
Hin. Around 25 km behind Rachaburi turn right into 3087.
After 5 km turn right again - after 7 km you will reach
the course on the left hand side.
If
Long hitter or "Short" player - without strategy you
will not survive this course. If you have successfully
mastered the tricky fairways (water hazards, trees,
bunker) you will be challenged again by the slopy
greens. A truly amazing layout with a landscape which
makes it hard to concentrate on the game! After the
first few holes it seems unlikely that there will be an
increased level of difficulty, but the challenge remains
until the last hole of this super course, which
undoubtedly counts as one of the 10 most beautiful golf
courses in Thailand.
Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you arrive
at your hotel in Bangkok or at the Airport, depending on
your travel arrangements.
