DAY 01 MANILA / ZAMBOANGA
Transfer to the Manila Domestic Airport. Flight to Zamboanga via Philippine Airlines. Arrive in Zamboanga and transfer to Lantaka Hotel by the Sea. Combined Zamboanga City Tour and Tulungatung Village Tour.
Zamboanga City Tour (approx. 3 hours)
Rio Hondo - A colony of coastal Tausugs, Samals and Badjaos (sea gypsies) live in a frail looking house-on-stilts. Rio Hondo, popularly known as a floating village, is situated on a 23-hectare mangrove with a population of 12,000 Muslims most of whom are children.
Fort Pilar - Built in 1635 by the Spaniards to ward off attacks from the Moros. The statue of the miraculous Virgin Mary embossed at the east wall of the fort is what attracts a lot of locals. A museum of shells, corals and fishes can be found inside the fort.
Guardia National - Busiest street in the city where the shopping centers, fish and vegetable market can be found.
Sta. Maria - where one can enjoy the beauty of several orchid gardens.
Pasonanca Park - Lorded over by verdant mountains and rolling hills, this 58-hectare park has three natural swimming pools boarded by ferns and other greeneries with cool crystal clear water. The park also boasts a boy scout campsite, convention center and tree house (honeymooner's house).
Palace of Peace - Perched on a hill overlooking the city of Zamboanga. Inside the palace are tastefully arranged interior design consisting of antique
brassware and frames ethnic cloth. The big dome silently speaks of mutual history of Mindanao in painting done by a local artist, Saudi Ahmad.
Yakan Weaving Village - It is an attraction to see how they weave and see their end products with original Yakan design.
Cawa-Cawa Boulevard - Where all the fishing boats and huge vintas called "basnig" rest after a day or night of fishing.
After lunch continue on with the Tulungatung Village Tour.
Tulungatung Village Tour (approx. 3 hours)
It is a Christian Village located 17 kilometers from the city proper of Zamboanga. The visitors will
experience the day to day life of the village people thru their chores.
Following are the activities that the guests will be able to witness in the village:
Tuba (Coconut wine) gathering, Harvesting of ripe coconut, Husking of coconut,
Copra making & Vegetable and fruit trees production.
Cultural Management of rice production
Seed bed production, transplanting, weeding, fertilizing, harvesting, pounding or grinding of rice.
Livestock (small scale) production:
Back-yard feeding of : pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, carabaos (water buffaloes) and cows.
Handicraft making from raw materials & Cockfighting.
Overnight stay.
DAY 02 ZAMBOANGA
American Breakfast. Sta. Cruz Island Tour (approx. 5 hours) - Known for its pinkish sand beach because of the washed out red corals from the bottom of the sea. On the island is fishing village, lagoon and an old Muslim burial ground. There is an extensive and varied underwater life of coral heads and rocks with supports a great variety of tropical fish. The place is ideal for swimming,
snorkeling, skin/scuba diving, beach combing and sunbathing. The facilities available are picnic shades and cooking area. Lunch on the island.
Overnight stay.
DAY 03 ZAMBOANGA /
MANILA
American Breakfast. Return flight to Manila via Philippine Airlines.
