Adventure at the River Kwai

Location:
Kanchanaburi, the provincial capital, can be reached in a 2 hour drive from Bangkok.
If you follow the route 323 in the direction to Thongphaphum, you reach a signboard for the Resotel at Km 54 and turn left to the Kwae Noi River. After a few minutes you will reach the boat pier. This is the end point for the car, you can part at the parking area. The Resotel (15 min.) and the Jungle Rafts (25 min.) can only be reached by long tail boat (for a fee).

Resotel: ***

This beautifully located resort has been build in a natural environment at the legendary River Kwai River. A tastefully designed resort center with restaurant and pool forms the center of the Resotel. A dreamlike setting for a long and relaxing Thai massage (reservation at the reception). Spacious round-bungalows with shower/WC and A/C.

Jungle Rafts: **

Approximately a further 10 minutes drive upstream are the Jungle Rafts chained like pearls along the river banks.
The resort consists of simple rustic bamboo rafts, lovely build and decorated only with natural materials. Every visitor immediately feels in harmony with the nature, which is breathtakingly unfolding around the rafts - jungle covered mountains on both sides of the river.
There is no electricity on the rafts, kerosene lamps are provided in the evening.
In the middle of the raft-chain there is an open restaurant.
Enjoy the unique atmosphere and nature while relaxing in the hammock in front of your room or take a swim in the river.

Activities:

The area invites to take one of the several offered tours and activities, which can be booked through the resorts. Tours to the Bridge of the River Kwai, the Hellfire Pass or a visit of a Mon Village with the opportunity to enjoy an elephant ride or extensive trekking trips.
Traditional Thai massage as well as boat tours and canoe rental is available. In the evening Mon dances will be performed in a little theater. Also cooking courses, herbal courses, steam bath and mountain bikes are offered.
