4 Days / 3 Nights : Phuket - Khao Soke National Park  - Phuket

Khao Soke park covers an area of about 645 square kilometers. It is one of Thailand's best preserved habitats for tropical vegetation and wildlife, with evergreen virgin jungle, waterfalls, sparkling clear rivers and streams, limestone cliffs, and many kinds of protected wildlife including monkeys and wild gaur. An area of about 20 square kilometers is occupied by a lake, a beautiful large reservoir which studded with jagged limestone cliffs.

The Jungle Lodge is a private guest house located in the woods next to the Khao Soke National Park, at km. 109 on the Surat Thani-Phuket Highway. The lodge is in a beautiful setting, looking out over a clear brook to majestic limestone cliffs. Accommodation is available in the main lodge, in tree houses overlooking the stream and cliff, or in a private house on stilts in the woods. At night oil lamps are the only means of illumination. Meals are provided at the lodge. American or Asian breakfast, a light Thai lunch, and a generous Thai set dinner. Vegetarian food is also available.

There are nature walks and climbs to be taken in the national park. Destinations include a natural swimming pool flanked by waterfalls on both ends, an eleven-tiered waterfall where wild animals are sometimes seen, and a natural rock arch over a stream.   From June through November, float through this majestic landscape on a kayak or inner tubes.

Day 1:. Pick up any South Thailand town by air conditioned car or mini-bus to the Jungle Lodge at Khao Soke. After lunch, a half day hike, with a guide experienced in the lore and crafts of the jungle. Walk through a rainforest crisscrossed with waterfalls and steams and teeming with thick bamboo, thorny rattan, pandanus and other tropical flora. Plenty of chance to swim in the cool clear waters. Dinner at the Jungle Lodge.
	Day 2: After breakfast, leave by car or mini-bus to Chio Larn Lake. Boat through a fairyland of majestic limestone cliffs and caves. Enjoy a picnic lunch and dinner on the lake. In the evening the hornbills, other large birds, and monkeys emerge to feed.
Day 3: Waking up in a raft house on the lake's edge, you will see various primates and other wildlife playing in the forest on the shore.  A hike will take you through the forest where the animals as the reservoir filled up.
	Day 4: Choose from optional rainforest hikes, kayak or tubing trips on the river, or just relaxing in the beautiful setting of the lodge.  Depart after lunch for Phuket or other destination in the South.
Rooms, Meals, and Activities Rooms Guest cottages are in the forest and of different sizes and types, including tree houses and tranquil riverside huts. Sleep Thai-style under mesh nets in rooms lighted by romantic oil lamps. Meals American or Asian breakfast, light Thai or Western lunch, and a generous Thai buffet for dinner with lots of tropical fresh fruit.
